ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester City Council will hold public forums this week to review the city's police reform proposals.

This comes as local State Senator Samra Brouk is advocating for $1 million in the next state budget for Rochester's Police Accountability Board.

Brouk points to the several police involved incidents that have happened since the death of Daniel Prude.

She then goes on to say that "dedicated funding for the police accountability board is an important first step in breaking this vicious cycle. I’m proud that senate resolution No. 504 of the New York state budget includes this essential funding."

Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m., city council will hold Zoom public forums for people to give feedback on the police reform draft plan.

This draft is in response to Governor Cuomo's executive order for localities to submit a plan by April 1.

People can have three minutes to talk during a session or email a comment that will be read during the meeting.

Council will only be there to listen.
