The Rochester Police Department and automaker Hyundai are hosting free events on Friday and Saturday for owners to install anti-theft software in high-risk Hyundai vehicles. This comes amid a rash of car thefts for Hyundai and Kia-made cars.

Kia hosted a similar clinic earlier this month.

The clinic will be held at Lot D across from Innovative Field at 131 Verona Street in Rochester. The entrance is at the corner of Morrie Silver Way and Oak Street. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. No registration is required.

Officials say this event will feature specially trained mobile service technicians on-site to install and complete the software upgrade, which should take less than 30 minutes.
