ROCHESTER, N.Y. — ​Talk about hometown pride: RMSC Museum and Science Center has been ranked in the top 10 in USA Today’s 10Best.

RMSC was one of 20 science museums across the country to be nominated for the award. Experts chose the top 10 and then a poll was conducted in which RMSC ranked eighth.

”It’s a pretty distinctive honor,” Kevin McNally, RMSC adult and public programs coordinator, said. “It really means that the community that we’re reaching tends to really appreciate what we’re doing and the work that we’re putting in. And we see that every day at the museum where people are enjoying themselves and the kids are having fun, doing hands-on experiments and learning when they don’t really know they’re learning, which is a beautiful thing to see.”

RMSC was the only museum in New York state to make the list.
