ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The parent company of Rochester Gas & Electric says it has roughly 1,800 line and tree crews across New York state to prepare for the extreme wind conditions this weekend — with 500 being in the Rochester area.
With gusts expected to reach close to 70 miles per hour, officials are warning residents to take precautions and prepare for potential power outages.
They also are advising all outdoor decorations or items be secured and brought inside to avoid being blown away.
RG&E says you can sign up for outage alerts ahead of the storm to stay up to date on outages and ask if you experience an outage to call them to report it.
