ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Roc the Future released its ninth annual State Of Our Children Address – The Pathway to Educational Renewal Wednesday.
In the nine year summary of community improvements, officials say some of the key areas of improvements include high school graduation rates, which is up 21%, college graduation, up 11% and RCSD teacher turnover rates, which are down 18%.
The report also highlights areas that require more work. College enrollment is down 12%, chronic absences and diversity in RCSD staff is down 3% in teachers and 10% in staff.
In their newly created ‘Wildly Important Goal’ initiative, Roc the Future aims to engage with at least 6,000 families.
“We must make sure that parents and family members have access to all of us so that we can improve together,” said. “We really need to make sure we recognize the role of families in all of our works.”
Roc the Future is also celebrating its ten year anniversary. The organization was founded to align community resources toward a shared agenda and goal of providing inspiration, information, and improvements to outcomes for children from cradle-to-career.
