GREECE, N.Y. — Greece Police Chief Drew Forsythe has been placed on administrative leave after crashing his police-issued vehicle last week, according to Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office is now investigating the incident.
No one was injured during the accident.
Reilich says he and the Greece Police Department requested the Monroe County District Attorney's Office to begin an investigation.
Officials from the DA's office issued a statement on Sunday:
"As stated earlier, the Monroe County District Attorney’s is serving as independent, outside investigators, looking into the situation involving Greece Police Chief Forsythe. We will be as transparent as possible as soon as our investigation is done. We will not comment or provide further details until our investigation is concluded."
Forsythe has been Greece's police chief for less than a year.
