ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police on Thursday announced details on a yearlong investigation into what they're calling a "major" drug ring in the Flower City.

Investigators say 26 people were arrested. Twenty-one were released on bail while five remain in police custody.

Search warrants were carried out at 28 locations across Rochester, allegedly yielding six kilos of cocaine and fentanyl, 34 guns and more than $148,000 in cash.

Much of what was seized was on display this afternoon at the Public Safety Building.

Police are calling the seizures "significant."

"It's significant in that, from a law enforcement perspective, it's a victory to take this many weapons and contraband off the street, because six-plus kilos of dangerous narcotics are not going to affect somebody's life by way of an overdose or something else that goes along with the use of those drugs,” said Captain John Koonmen, Rochester Police Department.

No names or list of charges have been released as the investigation is ongoing.
