GREECE, N.Y. — One thing we learned during the pandemic is to appreciate the importance of being able to be together and enjoy one another in social settings.

It's something the Town of Greece does through a special program called Time Out for Women.

Spectrum News 1 anchor Cristina Domingues recently had the chance to meet some wonderful women who enjoy the program through the town's Community Center. She shared her experiences about what her job is like.

Time Out for Women brings in guest speakers every week on all kinds of topics from travel, to food to those with interesting jobs.

Program directors say the pandemic put things on pause and they're happy to be back.

“We try to engage them here at the community center in everything: their mind, their body, their soul,” Peter OBrien, Greece Parks & Recreation director. “Time Out for Women gets their mind and their soul.  It's an opportunity for them to come and socialize with friends that they can see every week. For some of the women, this is it. We get anywhere form 60s all the way up to their 90s in terms of age. For some of them, this is the outlet every week."

The program is open to anyone, not just Greece residents.
