ROCHESTER, N.Y. — ​Rochester Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run that happened on Clifford Avenue last night.

Police say Nyasia Walker, 20, of Rochester, was crossing the road with a group when the vehicle hit her. Police say they got the call for a pedestrian struck at 9:25 p.m. Monday night. She was rushed to Strong Hospital, where she died shortly after. 

Rochester Police say she was traveling in a group of four to six people, but was the only one in the group who was hit.

The Major Crimes Unit is now asking anyone who saw anything, or sees a car with significant front end damage, to call them at 585-428-7157, 911 or email majorcrimes@cityofrochester.gov.

Investigators are now trying to determine if this is a tragic accident or a criminal case.
