ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Karin Gogolsky, 65, is competing in not her first or second, but third CrossFit Games.
She qualified for the games finishing ninth in the world in her 65-year and older age bracket.
She says her journey started when she was 57 years old.
“I got into it by a freak biking accident,” she explained. “I used to do triathlon and I got hit on my bike by a car and refused to get back on. It was a long recovery process and I had to find something to do. I tried kickboxing class and I hated it. I tried a boot camp class and hated it. I went to a CrossFit gym and I’m like, ‘I think I can do this.’ If it wasn’t for the accident then I wouldn’t have had found CrossFit. It’s a blessing in disguise that I had that accident.”
The games start July 27 and run through August 1 in Madison, Wisconsin.
