FAIRPORT, N.Y. — The Fairport Lift Bridge will finally be reopening on Friday following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The New York State Department of Transportation has been working on the bridge for nearly two years. The work was done to extend the life of the 107-year-old bridge.
Fairport Village Manager Bryan White spoke with Spectrum News 1 about the bridge rehabilitation process, the delays to construction and what has been done to update the span.
The bridge will reopen to traffic and pedestrians after the ceremony at 11 a.m.
