ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police continue to investigate a deadly stabbing that took the life of a man in his 20s on Sunday around 12 a.m. on Park Avenue.

Hours after a fatal stabbing in front of the Dragonfly Tavern, the area is back to its typical hustle and bustle.

Hunter Duford and Grant Pauly of Greece, who frequent the street, say they were in the area when the stabbing occurred.

"A random guy from the bar, he comes up to us, cause we saw him in the bar earlier, and he shows us this video on his phone and it's some guy getting stabbed, right on his phone,” Duford explained. “We couldn't see his face or anything, but it happened 10 minutes before we walked outside."

"It's sad that is going on in the city and you can't even go out anymore with something like that," added Pauly.

Duford and Pauly explained they are saddened by the increase of violence in the city of Rochester and never expected it would come to Park Avenue.

"It's not going to be prevent me from coming out here,” said Duford. “But I want to change it and I want it to be better. But I don't really know the best way to go about that. But I just hope that it gets better."

"The best thing is not to start trouble with people," added Pauly.

The two also believe Rochester Police did a great job handling the crime scene and making sure Park Avenue could return to normal as quick as possible.

"Rochester is still a great place,” said Duford. “This stuff is going to happen anywhere you go. People are going to get in fights. Unfortunately, this stuff happens, but I still love Rochester."
