A local anti-violence advocate is talking about the loss of his father to an instance of vehicular violence the day before the funeral service.

Milton Harris died when the car he was sitting in on Genesee Park Boulevard was hit by an alleged drunk driver earlier this month.

His son Clay is the head of Uniting and Healing through Hope of Monroe County.

He tells us his father leaves behind an incredible legacy, including dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clay says his father also leaves behind a legacy of hard work, working right up until the day that he died at age 83.

"He would work from 7 to 3 during the day. He'd come home and my mom would have dinner cooked and a lunch bag packed. So he'd sit down and eat for about 15 minutes, change his clothes and then take the lunch and he's gone. So we'd see him for about half an hour," Clay said.

The funeral for Milton Harris is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Temple Church on Elmwood Avenue.
