ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Renters across Monroe County who are having trouble making payments may be able to get some help from the federal government.
The city of Rochester and the county have received nearly $40 million in rent-relief funding for those struggling to pay past and current rent.
Funding for the Eviction Prevention Pilot Initiative comes from the most recent federal stimulus legislation.
"You know this is my palace I call it, I love living here. I was one of the first ones here and being able to have a calm heart that my rent is paid and everything is going good, it's a blessing," said Luther Knight of Rochester.
If you are facing possible eviction, call 211 and see if you can apply for emergency rent assistance.
