Cornell is requiring students to get vaccinated before heading back to campus next fall.

The Ivy League school will require students at its Ithaca, Geneva, and Cornell Tech campuses to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Medical and religious exemptions will be accommodated.

Cornell is looking into ways to vaccinate students who were not able to receive the vaccine before arriving on campus. It’s also developing plans for different vaccination rates on campus to keep students, staff and faculty safe.

The school is planning for full in-person instruction in August.

University leaders will hold a virtual town hall discussing the plans on Thursday.
