ROCHESTER, N.Y. — One of the landmarks in Rochester's 19th Ward is becoming transitional housing for homeless former prisoners.
The former Sojourner House on Millbank Street will be the new home of Nielson House after it was bought by Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach.
It will now house men after decades of hosting women and children in transitional and supportive programs.
Nielson House's director says several of the rooms still need to be repaired and painted before residents can start moving in.
