A Rochester native has taken command of a Navy aircraft carrier wing out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Captain Nathan Ballou, who is originally from Rochester, has been chosen to command Carrier Air Wing Seven.
Ballou previously served as deputy commander of the same unit on a 10-month deployment around the world aboard the USS Lincoln.
He also served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Ballou lives with his wife Beth and their children in Virginia Beach.
