There was a scary moment for a group of protestors at a Black Lives Matter rally in Hilton on Saturday as a protester 'brushed-up' against a passing car, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The protester was uninjured in the incident.

The sheriff’s office says around 3 p.m., a group of 75-100 protesters paused in the intersection of East Avenue and South Ave. to make speeches.

Deputies say that the driver was cooperative.

"The incident was not intentional against the protester, but rather confusion on the part of the driver, who was alarmed by the protesters in the street," according to police.

Deputies add that no charges will be filed against the driver.
