When people think of fall, they imagine all things pumpkin spice, gently falling leaves, cozy sweaters, bonfires — and zombies.

At least Darien Lake does during its annual Fright Fest.

The scare-a-thon returned Friday, September 27, and will continue every weekend through October 27.

They have four haunted mazes, scare zones and spooktacular shows for everyone to enjoy.

Their newest attraction this year is the Corridors of Chaos, set in a post-apocalyptic world.

"This is a scary future where there are no rules, but it turns out this isn't the safest place and there are killers and creeps around every corner,” said Mike Arena, communications manager at Six Flags Darien Lake.

He said they do not recommend parents bringing kids under the age of 12 to any of the mazes or shows after 6 p.m.

There are more family-friendly activities and crafts for young children to enjoy from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Access to the mazes costs $30 for a day pass or $40 for a season pass, plus the cost of admission, and tickets can be purchased online.

Kids’ activities are free with admission.
