Year after year, people from Rochester and the surrounding area gather at Frontier Field to share their love and excitement for the Red Wings. Many fans said it’s a family and friends tradition to root on their home team, no matter if they win or lose.
Monday’s game against the Syracuse Mets doubled as the regular season finale and fan appreciation day. General manager Dan Mason said the fan support for 2019 has been phenomenal.
"We had a really rough spring,” he said. “Our attendance was down a little bit because of the early season weather. We came back and ended up drawing over 451,000 people this year, which was our best attendance since 2010. Our fans proved that they love their Wings, they love them hot!
The last game of the season was a packed house. But don’t fret: there are only 31 weeks until opening day next season.
