Silk O'Loughlin's is finally beginning to bounce back after it was forced to shut its doors in May, but they're only open to bar business.

"As soon as the water was gone, and we didn't worry about the water coming back at us, just get everything back in here, clean everything back up," said Michael McKeon, owner of Silk O'Loughlin's.

The inside is ready and there's been some progress outside, including new break walls and new drainage.

Much of the focus has been on the patio where crews will begin pouring concrete next week.

"Hopefully, by Wednesday I can have tables and chairs back out and then the following week I think I'm gonna have to shut it down for a day so they can put a sealer and everything on it," said McKeon.

He says opening the bar is just one small step in the goal to make big changes that will hopefully make a difference in protecting the property.

"It's not ideal right now, but at least the doors are open, and the customers are coming back," He added. "I've got a list a mile-long of people I need to eventually thank. It makes me feel good, we made it through. What's gonna happen in the future, I do not know. Hopefully, everything we do now will stop that but it's a good feeling to be back."
