The Center for Youth's crisis nursery is a resource available to parents and guardians in need of childcare.

The nursery provides temporary child care at two locations in Rochester. There's a location on Genesee Park Boulevard and at Owen's House on Rosewood Terrace.

Each location is open 24/7 for parents in need.

Center for Youth's Executive Director Elaine Spaull said the nursery aims to be there for parents in any emergency situation, including unexpected illness, accidents, unemployment, mental health episodes, and unstable/unsafe housing.

"The Goal is nimble, quick and responsible care in emergency situations," Spaull said. "About 40 percent of our folks come to us for medical emergencies, domestic violence and just needing help for employment situations so our parents don't have to pick between losing a job and having good childcare."
