At least three people have died from suspected overdoses in Berkshire County over the last week.

The president of Berkshire County Ambulance says their workers responded to at least nine suspected overdoses since last Sunday.

At least two people died in Pittsfield.

In Adams, the Berkshire County DA’s office says one person died from an apparent overdose.

The ambulance service director calls this “very uncommon” for the county — 15 each month is their average.

It’s not believed the uptick is necessarily related to a bad batch, but first responders want to let the public know what’s going on.

According to the state Department of Public Health, Berkshire County saw 40 overdose deaths in 2018 — a record for the county.
