A destructive house fire has forced a Hilton business to shut its doors for good.

Dave and Peggy Revelle opened Revelle’s Décor in the village of Hilton after many years at a location on West Ridge Road.

The couple is now closing up their home décor and furniture shop after a fire destroyed their house and workshop two weeks ago. Many of the tools Dave collected over more than forty years were also lost in the fire.

The Revelle's say they can’t thank their customers enough for their support and would hope to see the business continue.

“We would entertain offers— if there were any— to buy the store, the contents and the name," Dave said. "We have been very successful in this location.”

Until then, everything in the shop is 35 percent off until the end of July.

“It’s very, very painful," Peggy said.

She urges those who have something to lose to “cherish what you have because you never know what tomorrow brings.”
