A creative studio in Fairport is showing people how to start summer off with good times.
Hammer & Stain offers a woodworking project that’s all about the classic backyard lawn game of cornhole.
Janet Carrigan opened Hammer & Stain Fairport in February. She says after 10 years as a stay-at-home mom she wanted to get back into the business world.
Carrigan hosts all kinds of wood stenciling projects at her West Avenue studio. Her family loves to play cornhole, so she thought it’d make the perfect summertime project.
“When you come in for your workshop you will have a set of unfinished boards ready for you and you will pre-select a design,” Carrigan said. “You could choose any design that we offer or you can also customize with your logo, or your school mascot or name. Anything is an option.”
There's a cornhole workshop happening on Saturday, June 22 that you can pre-register for online. The cornhole boards are already assembled for you. You pick out your paint color, stain and stencil.
