A group of veterans received a warm welcome home as they returned on Honor Flight Rochester Mission 66.

Around 60 vets from World War II to Korea and Vietnam were flown to Washington D.C. to tour the war monuments.

They were amazed at the reception coming into the Rochester airport, which they say made for an extra special Father's Day.

"It was great, it was wonderful,” said Vietnam veteran John Cusolito. “They treated us like kings. It was the most marvelous thing in the world."

"Well I'm lucky that both of my sons are here,” said Ralph Miller, a veteran from the U.S. Marine Corps. “One brought my granddaughters, the other one was my guardian on the trip and his sons are here with my daughter-in-law. So I've got my wife who is here, the whole family is here. So when it comes to Father's Day I've got it made here."

Mission 66 was the third of six planned trips to D.C. this year.

Generous donations from the Rochester community make each trip possible.
