Two board members at Wayne Central Schools who both are accused of official misconduct were backed up Thursday night by an overwhelming majority of people who spoke up during public comment.

Dennis Landry and Steve Gallaher allegedly entered a school building, triggering an alarm. That happened on Sept. 7, which led to the question why now, and why the incident was not immediately addressed.

Members of the community also questioned the board’s transparency and ability to act in unison, something Gallagher addressed.

“There is at times, yes, I'm not going to deny that," said Gallaher. "We try to work together as a board, but good boards disagree from time to time."

"This is supposed to be about our students and I think it's getting lost there," said Landry.

Gallaher’s hearing is scheduled for Monday while Landry’s has been postponed until May.
