Rochester Housing Authority Board Chair George Moses is facing new charges in connection to a federal corruption case linked to Rochester City Councilman Adam McFadden.

Moses appeared in court Tuesday with a high profile defense attorney from New York City as new counsel.

The RHA leader is accused of wire fraud and money laundering from October 2014 through December 2015.

Prosecutors say Moses and McFadden worked together to divert money to Rochester Housing Charities, an RHA non-profit arm run by McFadden after he left the executive director role at RHA.

The men stand accused of siphoning from a contract between RHA and a Washington-based consulting firm Capital Connections Partners, where McFadden allegedly kept $65,000.

Moses served as chairman of RHA's board in 2014. He was previously charged with lying to the FBI as they investigated McFadden's alleged involvement in the scheme.

"Mr. Moses has dedicated his life to working for the community in Rochester and we are confident that he's going to be vindicated at trial," said defense attorney Fred Hafetz.

If convicted, Moses could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

He's due back in federal court in April.
