Rochester police are looking for a driver who took officers on a chase Saturday afternoon.
Police say the suspect was evading officers by driving to the city from Greece. During the chase, an unrelated car ran a stop sign and hit a police car at Norton and Hollenbeck Streets.
It happened shortly before 2 p.m.
The driver was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign. Meanwhile, the passenger, 36-year-old James Williams got out and ran from the scene. He was eventually placed under arrest.
The officer involved in the accident was taken to the hospital out of precaution.
Williams is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
