The carousel that has called the former Irondequoit Mall home for years will now be leaving the country.

The double-decker carousel will make its way to a private collector in China.

Spectrum News spoke to the company brokering the deal, "Collector Concierge International."

Officials there say the carousel will be taken apart, piece by piece, then packed into two shipping containers.

It will take two to three weeks for the containers to make their way to Shanghai, where the carousel will be rebuilt in its new home.

The final price tag was close to $245,000.
