From pups to seniors plenty of dogs found their fur-ever homes while wagging around at Western New York's Furstastic Adopt-a-Thon.
Hundreds of animal lovers cozied up to adorable and adoptable pets looking for a loving family Saturday afternoon.
The event fights to stop euthanization in Western New York by emphasizing to families the importance of adopting instead of shopping for a pet. Families that did adopt walked away with a entire bag of dog food and boxes of toys for their new best friend.
"When they get adopted out it frees up another space for another foster in the shelter. We can't stress enough that people should adopt and not shop," said founders Tina Chaudhry and Jackie Blachowski.
Creators of the event said more than 800,000 dogs are euthanized each year across the nation.
