It's the end of an era for Rochester families who made a local bakery part of their family traditions.

The owners of Gruttadauria's bakery in Greece are passing the torch to the fourth generation of owners and moving the business to California.

Gruttadauria's has been serving desserts in the Rochester area for over 100 years. The shop spent 90 of those years at its Jay Street location before moving to West Ridge Road.

Current owner Mark Gruttadauria is handing off the business to his son, Michael. Gruttadauria says the bakery will still ship goods back home and gift certificates will still work online.
