CALIFORNIA – A “Flamin’ Hot” movie is in the works about the businessman behind the fiery food, according to Variety.
The movie will spotlight Richard Montanez, the creator of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Montanez got his start at a young age picking grapes as a migrant worker in Southern California.
His big break came while working as a janitor for food giant, Frito-Lay. Montanez had a spicy idea that he pitched to transform the Frito-Lay brand.
The idea for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos propelled Montanez from his janitorial position to a corporate executive.
Fox Searchlight is in the works to produce the movie. So far there is no word on when the movie will be released.
