ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Cobbs Hill Dog Park in Rochester will remain open permanently, and could even expand.

The park opened last year as part of a one year pilot program.

City leaders say they received overwhelmingly positive feedback from not only dog owners, but also neighbors and neighborhood association leaders.

The park features fire hydrants, open lawns, benches, and drinking water with separate areas for large and small dogs.

The program is so effective city leaders say they are exploring the idea of adding additional dog parks in other areas of the city.

A permit is needed to take a dog to the park, and those permits are available online
