The state's correctional officers and Police Benevolent Association says several officers were hurt after the Five Points facility in Seneca County went into lockdown last week.

The association says six officers were treated after some inmates became violent in a cell block at the maximum security prison on November 3.

They added a cascading series of fights between inmates injured a number of the guards as they tried to quell the violence.

The association also says the officers have minor scrapes and cuts, with one suffering a fractured hand.

A ceramic scalpel was confiscated from an inmate during the fighting.

Officers say this follows a lockdown following a large fight in the recreation yard earlier last week.
