The borough's Jewish community welcomes a new and improved center for learning.

The Staten Island Hebrew Academy has a new home this school year on Richmond Road.

It moved out of its former New Dorp location to make way for more students and updated facilities.

The new building is equipped with a dedicated cafeteria, science lab and gymnasium.

"It's a great opportunity we literally ran out of space in the old location. Here we can accomodate double the amount of students we had before," said Rabbi Shlomo Uzhansky, SI Hebrew Academy.

"In the previous years, we used to do our assemblies in the lunchroom, we used to have the gym in the lunchroom now we can actually grow in this school,"  said Dina Khukhashvili, a teacher.

The school still is still accepting new students.
