CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. -- There are plans for the future of a Canandaigua restaurant that was destroyed in a fire Thursday.
Owner Nick Violas took to social media Friday, saying Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake will return to South Main Street in April.
The restaurant caught fire Thursday morning for unknown reasons.
In his post (below), he described the loss he and his staff felt as they watched the restaurant burn to the ground.
While the remainder of the building was bulldozed Friday, Violas says he and his management team met to talk about what to do next.
He says his other business, Canandaigua Country Club, and Nolan's catering division will remain in full operation.
The country club will absorb some full time employees for the summer.
He said in part, "The Nolan's team will survive. We will not feel sorry for ourselves and we will be back to serve Canandaigua again. It's what we do, and that will not change."
Violas also thanked the Canandaigua community for its outpouring of support, including businesses who have reached out with employment offers for displaced Nolan's staff.
