BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The NFTA is looking to make life easier for professionals that use public transportation during their morning commutes. In June, it will launch a corporate pass program that will allow companies with 25 or more employees to offer NFTA monthly passes at a discount.

Through subsidies offered by NFTA and participating businesses, a pass priced normally at $75 will be available to employees for $38.

NFTA officials hope the program will boost ridership while getting cars off the road. They believe this could cut down on emissions as well as reduce traffic and cluttered parking downtown.

If employers have less than 25 employees, several companies can join together to reach the minimum and participate in the program.

The program launches June 1.
