ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- There have been reports the owners of the Rochester Americans have looked elsewhere because of the current state of the Blue Cross Arena, but they say their main goal is to stay in the community.
Pegula Sports and Entertainment says discussions for a long term agreement are continuing.
They hope it will allow the hockey team to compete in an improved facility that meets necessary arena standards.
The group says in part, "PSE is exploring all options for the Amerks organization with its primary preference to have the franchise remain a driver in the Rochester community as an anchor in the emerging downtown corridor."
