CASTILE, N.Y. -- On South Main Street in the village of Castile, a once popular restaurant stands vacant, boarded up after a violent fire ripped through it about a week ago.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the early morning hours of February 15th, to the Castile Diner, located in the village of Castile. Since then, the operator of the restaurant, 36-year-old Amy Goodenow has been charged with third degree arson.
Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies arrested the owner and operator after determining the fire was intentionally set. The owner of the building and it's contents, Steve Gitsis, was unavailable for comment, as were the investigators.
Goodenow was arraigned in the Village of Castile Court. She is out of the Wyoming County Jail on $5,000 bail, and due back in court in April.
