ULSTER, N.Y. -- The town of Ulster will become the new home for a "safe shoot" gun range.

Owners were supposed to open the site in Kingston, but according to town Supervisor James Quigley, Ulster will have a larger space to work with.

Owners also felt the Kingston location was inappropriate because it's located near a YMCA and a local hospital.

The town is waiting for a building permit before beginning renovations.

The shooting range is anticipated to open later this year.
