NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Blood testing continued at Cornerstone Family Healthcare in Newburgh on Wednesday.

The testing is part of the Health Department's bio-monitoring program for people concerned about possible PFOS contamination.

The chemical was first discovered in Washington Lake earlier this year. The Health Department says more than 1,000 people have signed up for the testing.

Additional sessions will be hosted at the Lake Street Cornerstone facility on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

There are also time slots on November 7 and November 10 at the Cornerstone Family Healthcare facility on Broadway.

The Department of Health is encouraging people to pre-register for an appointment by phone or email.

Officials say more dates will be added based on demand and feedback from the community.
