New to San Antonio’s Westside is a unique art project that connects the community through walking trails and a green space plaza.
Two years in the making, the San Antonio Housing Authority and the NRP Group unveiled the public art with a walking tour yesterday.
The art installation spreads three sections of the Gardens at San Juan Square.
Artists integrated some of the artwork into the landscape.
San Antonio ISD students even had some say in how the final project looked.
“It had meaning,” said artist Donna Zarbin Byrne. “I enjoyed working, we both do it with spaces that we can include the meaning of the community and work with our art in those spaces.”
Since 2008, the NRP Group and the San Antonio Housing Authority have been working together to revitalize the San Juan neighborhood.
