A Monroe County grand jury has indicted an 81-year-old man accused of raping a mentally vulnerable person several times over the past year.
Nelson Seiler was indicted on three counts of second-degree rape, criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or disabled person. Irondequoit police say the abuse happened between November 1, 2015 and April 30, 2016.
Seiler had sex with a 20-year-old mentally disabled woman at his home on Bayton Drive, according to police who say the victim has the mental capacity of a six year old.
During the months long investigation, police say Seiler did not have contact with the victim. Seiler remains in the Monroe County Jail.
