ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A woman has filed a civil lawsuit against the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, accusing deputies of attacking, macing, stripping and photographing her naked while she was at the jail, and posted a video of the alleged incident to her Facebook page.
In the paperwork filed in federal court, Jennifer Merrow says it happened when she was being arrested on Dec. 19, 2014. Merrow contends she was choked, kicked, punched and thrown to the ground, then lost consciousness and woke up naked in a cell. According to the civil suit, Merrow says deputies told her to pose and took pictures of her on their cell phones.
Ronald Harling, superintendent of the jail, jail deputy Raelle Ashley, and Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn are listed in the complaint, along with others whose identities are unknown to Merrow.
Merrow wrote on her Facebook page that she was charged and convicted of assaulting a police officer. She says she never said or did anything to provoke what happened.
