Sources tell NY1 that an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting and robbery of Knicks forward Cleanthony Early.

According to sources, Devlon Dowling was arrested and charged.

He is the first person to be implicated in the shooting.

Police say Early was robbed and shot in the leg after leaving the CityScapes Gentlemen's Club on 58th Street in Maspeth on December 30, 2015.

According to police, three vehicles forced an Uber cab that Early and his girlfriend were in to stop on Maurice Avenue. Police say four to six masked males then jumped out and robbed Early of his jewelry, cash, cellphone and gold teeth before shooting him above his right knee.

According to a criminal complaint provided by the U.S. attorney for the eastern district's office, which does not specifically identify Early by name, Dowling admitted he was part of a group of people who robbed and shot a man in the leg as the man was leaving a club in Queens on December 30.

According to the criminal complaint, Dowling said he waited in the car while others committed the robbery and while one of his co-conspirators shot the victim in the leg.

The 24 year-old Early is in his second season with the Knicks.

He returned to the team for last Friday's game against the Nets after a nearly four-month recovery and a brief stint with the Knicks D-League team.
