The Red Cross is helping a Rochester family after an early morning house fire on Campbell Street near 490 and Mount Read Boulevard.

Three adults and three kids were asleep when the fire started, but managed to get out of the burning home safely, firefighters said.

Investigators are not yet sure how the fire started.

"Early morning fires always make us nervous because people are generally at home sleeping. So they are very serious. One of the adult occupants said she was awoken and she opened her eyes and saw fire in the front of the house and woke everybody up and got everybody out," said Glenn Sheremeta, with the Rochester Fire Department.

There's significant smoke damage throughout the house.
