CHILI, N.Y. -- St. Pius X Church celebrated the Bishop coming to their newly repaired parish center with a Saturday evening mass.

Last New Year's Day, fire and smoke severely damaged the facility. Almost one year later, parishioners gathered to bless the new center that was rebuilt from the old structure.

According to the pastor, adjustments were made to accommodate all the seating. They now have viewing rooms were parishioners can watch a live stream of the mass. The pastor describes the experience as a roller coaster, but is grateful for the outcome.

"It's a sense of growth and progress that the people have seen this building taken down to it's core, cleaned and capsulated. And now having it repaired and able to come here for mass is just a wonderful movement forward, it's another step," said Paul Bonacci, Pastor

While the parish center has been repaired, the church itself still remains under construction.
