ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Some Rochester residents are on their way to New York City to see the pope today. Some of them are Sisters of Saint Joseph.

At last night's prayer service at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Pope Francis praised and thanked American nuns saying,"What would the church be without you?"

Today some local nuns are ready to hear more. Sisters Donna Del Santo, Marilyn Pray and Lorraine Julien are all on their way to see Pope Francis celebrate mass later today.

Some in the group who left Friday morning were wearing Pope inspired sweatshirts, others proudly showing off their Pope Celebration Mass tickets as they boarded an early morning bus to the Big Apple.

"We are so psyched," said Sister Donna Del Santo. His message so far has been so wonderful, for not only Catholics but, for the whole world and we are just looking forward to being in his presence and having a sense of community we hope to keep building upon for the sake of the universe really."

"The part to Congress, I  was very thrilled with. I thought he invited the whole nation to work for justice to lift up everyone and not just some in our society and that excites me very much," said Sister Marilyn Pray.

Some of the congregation from Holy Apostles Roman Catholic Church was also on the same bus to New York this morning, everyone is looking forward to mass with the Pope a little later.
