ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Leaders in Monroe County may have decided controversial images of pickaninny will remain on an historic carousel but the fight to take it down is far from over.

The county's decision to keep the panel on the Dentzel Carousel at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte continues to draw criticism from the community.

Thursday the United Christian Leadership Ministry is meeting to address what it calls the controversial caricature image on the Carousel. The group said it's demanding the image be taken down immediately.

They call it a portrait of cultural racism similar to the confederate flag, and should not be associated with the office of County Executive Maggie Brooks or her administration.

Stay tuned for more from the meeting.
